Sparrow Medicine offers a variety of treatments designed to promote relaxation and enhance physical and mental well-being. Some common treatments include medical massage, relaxation massage, deep tissue, reflexology, prenatal, cupping, infrared treatment, and hydrotherapy. Massages may involve techniques such as Swedish, orthopedic, medical, deep tissue, hot stones, and cupping. We also offer other services such as fitness classes, meditation sessions, and Reiki sessions to further promote overall wellness.
orthopedic/ medical massage
Orthopedic/medical massage is an outcome-based massage technique used to target injuries and pain for the purpose of rehabilitation. It focuses on the muscles and soft tissues that surround the joints.
The aim of this massage is to relieve pain while restoring balance to the tissues and creating a fuller range of motion. It is the application of a specific treatment, targeted to a specific problem. The practitioner’s assessment/evaluation of the presenting issues allow them to develop specific, individualized treatment for each client.

veteran/active duty medical massage
This massage is used to target the conditions that the patient presents with from injuries sustained or exacerbated by their service career. Infrared treatment, additional time & modalities are added to address common issues found in Vets and Active duty. PTSD and issues associated with it are taken into consideration with the goal that the patient feels safe and secure and not triggered. All of the therapist's documentation is distributed to the patient, when needed for their visits to the VA.
The initial visit includes a 15-minute intake at no extra cost.

A couples relaxation massage is designed to be shared between two people in the same room at the same time. The massage is typically performed by two massage therapists who work in tandem

A form of energy healing in which a Reiki practitioner gently moves her hands just above or on the client’s clothed body. A practitioner is trained to help guide the energy throughout the client’s body to promote self-healing and balance within one’s body. Receiving a Reiki treatment helps restore your body’s natural energetic flow creating an overall balance of wellness.

prenatal massage
Prenatal massage aims to relax tense muscles, improve circulation and mobility, and soothe sore muscles because of the changes in your body and to increase relaxation. Prenatal massage is customized to the needs of the patient and their changing bodies, and therapists adjust their techniques accordingly. Prenatal massages are generally considered safe after the first trimester.

TMJD treatment
The temporomandibular joint connects the mandible to the temporal bone. This joint is vulnerable to joint disorder (TMJD) due to stress, teeth grinding, jaw injuries, arthritis and everyday wear and tear. Symptoms include jaw pain, difficulty chewing, toothache, earache, headaches, tenderness around jaw, jaw locking, and muscle spasms. The focus of this massage is releasing the mouth, jaw, head and neck to increase range of motion and decrease discomfort. This includes extra-oral and intra-oral massage.

Castor Oil Packs
”When in doubt, use a castor oil pack”. A flannel folded sheet coated with castor oil and heated to be applied to the abdomen with a heating pad. The process is used for over 30 physiological effects including issues with the gallbladder, digestion, cirrhosis (other liver conditions), cysts, gastritis, headaches, hypertension, and kidney issues to name a few. To be used independently and applied by one other the practitioners or added to enhance a massage.
